Rev. Dr. Charles Albert Tindley (July 7, 1851 – July 26, 1933), minister, composer, and scholar.
He composed “I’ll Overcome Someday,” among other hymn, which became the basis of “We Shall Overcome.”
The Nile Project will host its second annual music residency in Uganda this January, and they’re currently accepting applications from Nile Basin musicians to join the collective.
